The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards is a year-long program The following is an overview of the key milestones in the 2010 program.
Nomination process
Nominations close: 26 March 2010
All entrants in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year program complete a nomination form detailing corporate goals, vision, strategy, key achievements and company financials. Nominations that meet the eligibility criteria are submitted to the independent judging panel for assessment against the six key judging criteria.
Regional judging
May - June 2010
Regional nominees meet the regional judges during a panel interview. The judging will be followed by a reception with sponsors and alumni of the regional program. A photography and filming session is also scheduled.
Regional award ceremony
July - September 2010
This prestigious cocktail reception celebrates the regional category winners, who will go on to compete in the national awards program. A Social entrepreneur and Champion of Entrepreneurship are also honoured.
National interview form
Completed before 17 September 2010
National finalists are asked to expand on their original nomination forms, adding additional information around the six judging criteria. The national interview forms are assessed by the national judging panel.
National Masterclass
28 October 2010
Location: Ernst & Young office, Sydney
A full day workshop allows national finalists from around the country to meet and network with other each. The program features educational sessions and inspirational speakers.
Regional send-off dinners
October 2010
An informal dinner to reconnect with fellow regional winners and prepare for the journey into the national Entrepreneur Of The Year program.
National judging
28 October 2010
Location: Ernst & Young office, Sydney
National finalists meet the national judges during one-on-one interviews. The following day, the judges will decide on the national category winners and the overall Australian Entrepreneur Of The Year.
National award ceremony
25 November 2010
Location: TBC
This glittering black tie dinner marks the culmination of the 2010 Entrepreneur Of The Year program, with national category winners and one overall Australian Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrated in front of hundreds of guests from around the country.
